Dr. Jane Persaud is a post-doctoral fellow with extensive experience in clinical and school psychology, working with individuals across the developmental lifespan, from children to older adults. During her doctoral program at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Persaud specialized in cognitive behavioural therapeutic interventions. Through her clinical experiences, she trained in and integrated evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring interventions to meet each client’s unique needs. She has worked in outpatient clinics, college counselling centers, and school settings, helping individuals navigate a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, emotional dysregulation, executive functioning deficits, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma-related concerns.

Dr. Persaud takes a warm, empathetic, and supportive approach to therapy, creating a nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In her practice, Dr. Persaud emphasizes the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance. She works closely with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans that respect their unique goals and values. Her focus is on fostering growth, resilience, and emotional well-being, empowering clients to reach their full potential. She has a particular passion for working with diverse populations and incorporates a culturally sensitive framework into her practice, recognizing the importance of identity, culture, and background in shaping mental health.
