Dr. Raymond Bepko holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in psychology from Yeshiva University in New York City. He has practiced psychology in New York State since 1978. He worked as a staff psychologist at Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center and McPike Addiction Treatment Center, Director of Psychology at Faxton Hospital, and adjunct professor of psychology at SUNY Institute of Technology and Utica College. He has served as consulting psychologist to the Center for Family Life and Recovery, the ARC of Oneida and Lewis Counties, and the Regional Rehabilitation Center at Faxton – St. Luke’s Healthcare. He started and directed the Behavioral Healthcare Pain Management Program at Faxton – St. Luke’s for six years. He was also a member of the Bioethics Committee at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital. He has served in various capacities on the Board of Directors of the Resource Center for Independent Living and is currently chair of the RCIL Living Independently is For Everyone Board.

He is presently in private practice in the Utica area. His practice encompasses traditional emotional and behavioral issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment to life events. He also focuses on emotional and behavioral management of physical health problems, especially chronic pain conditions secondary to injury and illness. Specifically, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy is used to help patients recover from and transcend mood disorders, pain, illness, injury, addiction, and trauma, and to develop and practice the specific attitudes, skills, and behaviors central to physical and psychological wellness.
