Dr. Audra Yacka is a licensed psychologist in NJ who provides telehealth psychotherapy for adults. She earned her PsyD from Pace University in 2000, and she has worked in a variety of settings ranging from outpatient to inpatient treatment. She has experience working with a wide range of clinical needs and with clients from culturally diverse backgrounds. Dr. Yacka specializes in transitional and relationship issues as well as mild to moderate anxiety and mood disorders. Using a strength-based and relational focus, Dr. Yacka helps clients gain insight about themselves while introducing strategies for improving functioning and decreasing distress. She utilizes a combination Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness strategies.
Dr. Yacka has worked as a staff psychologist at a large college counseling center for the past 14 years, so she is quite experienced in working with the young adult population navigating life transitions. She also has over 20 years of experience working with patients in crisis through hospital emergency services and psychiatric screening. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, her warmth and understanding approach help put clients at ease and feel comfortable sharing information. She aims at balancing support and acceptance with providing insight in areas for growth and change.
