Dr. Kit Sluys is a clinical psychologist licensed in Oregon and a resident of Portland, OR. She is passionate about helping individuals and couples with situations such as depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, grief, life transitions, and managing high-pressure careers.
Dr. Sluys believes in everyone’s ability to reach their full potential and is invested in uncovering their strengths throughout the therapeutic process. She practices from a person-centered, evidence-based approach and uses strategies from mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other treatments backed by research.
Much of Dr. Sluy’s success has come from helping her clients connect with their values and true selves, allowing them to reach their goals and live their fullest lives. Her approach has been described as a kind, listening ear along with honest, direct feedback and actionable, evidence-based tools. Collaboration with her clients is important to Dr. Sluys, who believes that her clients bring so much wisdom to their sessions that can be explored and used to their benefit.
Dr. Sluys earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, California. With a background in health psychology focusing on the mind-body connection, she has worked with both patients as a member of their medical team and also with healthcare providers and administrators coaching, training, and speaking nationally.
