Hi, I’m Amira Aboras, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s emotional challenges with clarity and resilience. I specialize in supporting adults facing issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, relationship concerns, personality disorders, and identity-related struggles, including those specific to the LGBTQ+ community. I strive to meet each person where they are in their healing journey, creating space for authentic growth and meaningful change.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. I use an eclectic mix of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic work, and interpersonal-based strategies, to help you gain insight into your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Together, we’ll build tools to move toward a more balanced, healthy life.
I hold a master’s degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, along with a certification in Victimology Studies. I’ve worked across diverse clinical settings and am committed to offering nonjudgmental, inclusive care that empowers each client to feel seen, heard, and supported.
