Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Cristina M. Vesprini, M.S.Ed, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor who received her master’s degree in mental health counseling from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Cristina has 10+ years of experience working with children, teens, and adults providing both child, individual, and family therapy. At this time, Cristina specializes in adolescents, young professionals, and adults. Some of Cristina’s specialty areas include life transitions, relationship/family issues and dynamics, narcissistic abuse, women’s issues, self-worth and empowerment, LGBTQ+ and sexuality, along with inner child healing and parts work.
Cristina believes that who we are today is greatly influenced by our life experiences and dynamics within childhood and adolescence. Cristina emphasizes the value of how important this is for us to see and understand how this has led to our current patterns and conditioning in our lives, in order for us to heal and make renewed connections within ourselves to have the opportunity for healthier and more fulfilling relationships with others.
The goal of Cristina’s work is to support and encourage positive change and increase your understanding of yourself. Cristina uses a non-judgmental approach that is trauma-informed and will work with you to help identify your strengths and increase the coping skills needed to reach your goals within the treatment. Cristina’s goal is to meet you wherever you might be in your healing journey with compassion and empathy and strives to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to work through past or present experiences that are causing you discomfort.
Cristina is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes a range of therapeutic interventions that include, but are not limited to Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
Cristina’s overall goal is to work with clients collaboratively, helping to build upon a renewed sense of trust, as well as your own personal resiliency to reach your identified goals within the therapeutic journey.
