Hi, I’m Dr. Kara Kaatz, a licensed clinical psychologist at Thriving Center of Psychology. I work with individuals ages 12 and up facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, trauma, grief, substance misuse, and relationship challenges. I also specialize in self-compassion, empowerment, adjustment issues, and support clients with chronic health conditions through my health psychology background.
My approach is supportive, collaborative, and evidence-based. I combine CBT, mindfulness, and insight-oriented work to help you identify patterns, shift unhelpful beliefs, and move toward a fulfilling life. Together, we’ll set clear goals and take tangible steps so you can feel and see your progress.
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota and completed my predoctoral internship in health psychology at the University of Minnesota. I’ve worked in community mental health, university counseling, residential treatment, primary care behavioral health, and psychiatric hospitals. I’d be honored to support you on your journey.
