Kelly Kyriacou, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Kelly’s therapeutic style is warm and compassionate. She takes a client-centered approach to therapy, focusing on building a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients can openly share their thoughts and feelings, especially those that may have felt too overwhelming to explore alone. She tailors treatment plans to each client’s unique needs, incorporating research-backed methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma-focused care.
In sessions with Kelly, you can expect to gain a better understanding of yourself and the thought patterns that keep you stuck, while also learning practical skills to manage anxiety, cope with daily stressors, and improve self-compassion. She understands that repairing your relationship with food and your body can feel daunting, but is a firm believer that full recovery is possible and achievable for everyone. Kelly also has extensive experience treating comorbid conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, which makes her well-equipped to address the complex interplay between these issues and eating disorders, as well as treating them as standalone issues.
Kelly is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Eating Disorder Therapist based in New York. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena College and her master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Iona University (formerly Iona College). Over the years, she has dedicated her career to helping people on their path to eating disorder recovery, instilling a sense of freedom from food rules and the confines of societal pressures.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward change, Kelly is here to support you every step of the way.
