Lex Uehline, Ph.D.

Dr. Lex Uehline, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise providing culturally competent and evidenced-based psychotherapy to adults. Recognizing mental health and well-being as inseparable from our social and cultural environment, Lex strives to foster a safe and supportive therapeutic space that harnesses the power of authenticity and collaboration to promote growth and change. She specializes in the treatment of identity concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, interpersonal challenges, family of origin issues, and life transitions. Valuing the collective healing of diverse and historically marginalized communities, Lex also holds a strong investment in supporting the mental health needs of those affected by individual and systemic oppression, as well as various forms of trauma.
Grounded in principles of trauma-informed and culturally responsive counseling, Lex uses an integration of Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Understanding the uniqueness clients’ backgrounds and concerns, Lex is flexible and adaptive in her approach to therapy. In her practice, Lex embodies compassion, warmth, and affirmation as she supports clients in navigating the depths of lived experience, building resilience, leveraging strengths, and gaining coping skills to move through hardship.
Lex earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University, located in Muncie, Indiana. Across her training and professional experiences, Lex has included a culturally aware perspective into all aspects of her work. She has developed numerous psychoeducation and prevention programs related to embracing diversity and social justice and engaging in the lifelong process of allyship. Lex has conducted and presented research on the intersection of race, culture, and mental health, with specific focus on the nuances of Biraciality.
