Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Hi, I’m Murphy Corcoran, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over ten years of experience in social services and clinical care. I work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including addiction recovery, trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, relationship and family dynamics, attachment concerns, life transitions, and issues related to self-esteem. I’m passionate about helping people move through difficult emotions and reconnect with a sense of meaning and fulfillment in their lives.

My approach is holistic and relational, I believe that understanding the full context of who you are, including your identity, history, and experiences, is key to meaningful healing. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, compassionate space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions. Whether you’re facing a major life transition or just feeling stuck, I’m here to help you process what you’re going through and develop tools that support growth both in and beyond the therapy room.

I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, and I tailor my work to your individual needs and goals. At the heart of my practice is a belief in the power of connection, feeling seen, heard, and understood is essential for healing.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from New York University and my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d love to support you. Reach out, and let’s begin this journey together.
