Nate Goins, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Nate Goins, is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatment of depression, anxiety, life transitions, stress, chronic illness, and LGBTQ+ health. He focuses on collaborating with his clients to help them gain a better understanding of their goals and builds on this to create a path to have more of the life they want, regardless of whatever challenges might come up along the way. His work is grounded in cognitive therapy approaches that focus on empowering clients to make and continue real change, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Ultimately, Dr. Goins wants his clients to see themselves as strong, capable people who can maintain their well-being and continue to grow both in and out of therapy.
Dr. Goins earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, and subsequently completed his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. He has a background in primary care integrated behavioral healthcare working as a part of a team of family medicine doctors treating patients ranging in age from early childhood to geriatrics.
