Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Rebecca Youssef, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in issues related to stress management, life transitions, chronic illness, and wellness. Dr. Youssef received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Midwestern University and completed her undergraduate education at Loyola University Chicago. Prior to joining Thrive, Dr. Youssef worked as a primary care behavioral health consultant on a team of internal and family medicine doctors treating patients with a variety of medical and mental health presentations.

Dr. Youssef preaches, teaches, and practices mindfulness and valued living to help clients live a life of meaning despite dealing with physical and emotional distress. Her work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and she also incorporates solution-focused counseling, motivational interviewing, mind/bodywork, and humor into the work she does with clients to help them improve their mood, functioning, quality of life, and overall health. Her goals are to empower individuals to make changes based on their personal values and to walk alongside them (and cheer them on!) as they realize their own strengths. Dr. Youssef approaches psychotherapy from a space of empathy, collaboration, authenticity, and compassion to build a trusting and safe space for her clients to explore where they are at in life, where they want to go, and how they can get them there together.
