Dr. Sekinat Kuku is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who completed her doctoral training from William Paterson University, New Jersey. Dr. Kuku has worked extensively with survivors of trauma, college students, adults, children and families in a variety of clinical settings. Her areas of expertise include identity concerns, anxiety, trauma, loss, building resilience, depression, adjustment reactions, intergenerational conflict, and relationship issues.

Dr. Kuku’s approach to therapy embraces an integrative style that validates a client’s worldview and she collaborates with them to discover a wellness plan in alignment with what suits them best. Guided by the principles of person-centered and relational psychodynamic therapy, Dr. Kuku values embodying warmth, passion and authenticity in her practice. Dr. Kuku also draws on cognitive and behavioral techniques, coping skills development, problem solving and other pragmatic ways of helping address the concerns clients come in with.

Dr. Kuku intimately recognizes both the overt and covert impacts of societal oppression, offering a reassuring space for clients navigating diverse and intersectional worldviews.
