Doctoral Resident

Dr. Stephanie Chin is a post-doctoral fellow who intends to help individuals address their mental health goals, as well as increase their overall wellness and well-being. She completed her pre-doctoral training at Asian Americans for Community Involvement in San Jose, California and earned her doctoral degree from the University of Louisville.

Within settings including community mental health, outpatient hospital, and university counseling centers, Dr. Stephanie has provided counseling services to individuals who experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, race and/or gender based stress, difficulties related to culture, and domestic violence.

Dr. Stephanie is especially passionate about providing mental health services to Asian American, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), and other marginalized individuals. She integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with a multicultural approach, to increase clients’ self-awareness, help them overcome their issues, and build resilience, while considering their intersecting identities and unique backgrounds.
