Andrea Sanpietro, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Andrea Sanpietro is a compassionate and experienced psychotherapist with a dedication to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and transitions. With over 25 years of experience in social services, Andrea brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. She holds dual master’s degrees from Columbia University: one in Counseling Psychology, M.Ed, and the other in Organizational Behavior. Specializing in working with adults aged 18 and over, Andrea’s diverse background encompasses psychiatric rehabilitation, chronic illness/disability, career development, and mid-life transitions for both women and men. She believes that the foundation of successful therapy lies in the connection between the client and therapist, coupled with the development and application of practical skills, strategies, and resources.
Andrea adopts a blended approach to therapy, drawing from various modalities to tailor her methods to each client’s unique needs and preferences. Her therapeutic style is client-centered, placing emphasis on collaboration and empowerment. She integrates elements from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral techniques, as well as psychodynamic and psychoanalytic principles into her practice. Her areas of specialty include trauma, depression, anxiety, and work/life transitions. Andrea’s fundamental goal is to create a space where clients feel accepted and supported in exploring their thoughts and emotions, while also guiding them towards choosing the most effective ways to navigate their lives. With Andrea Sanpietro as your therapist, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth.
