Dr. Maria Chi, DSW, LICSW, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker in both MA and NY. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Bowdoin College, master’s in social work at Columbia University, and doctorate in clinical social work at NYU. She’s also been a clinical supervisor, presenter, workshop facilitator, guest lecturer, and author/contributor to the professional mental health literature. For the past 21 years, Dr. Chi has devoted her career to working with people affected by cancer and other illnesses, young adults managing various life transitions, and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and problems with self-esteem. To address these issues, Dr. Chi uses evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and existential therapy. Regardless of the modality, Dr. Chi’s approach is known to be direct but supportive and compassionate, non-judgmental, authentic, interactive, and humorous (when appropriate).
